I tend to get to work about a half hour before I have to take the floor (to start work). During this time, I mentally and emotionally prepare for the day, the best I can without knowing the details. I finish my coffee and banana, text soldiergirl g'morning, take a deep cleansing breath ... and GO!
I make a conscious effort to leave my personal life and issues off the floor, so that my full attention can be on the 5 or 6 little ones in my care. I know not everyone takes their job as seriously as I do, and that is OK. I just have to do it this way. I have a lesson plan prepared weeks in advance which actually contains ACADEMIC CONTENT! (I know that is a radical statement from a daycare team leader, but ...
)
While this is not the career I might choose for myself, and some of you are aware of the struggles I have encountered along the way, I refuse to spend large periods of my life disliking how I spend my time. I determined to ENJOY my life, my work, my kids ... whatever the season.
When I am released, and I leave the floor, it takes approximately an hour to cleanse my heart & mind of the day, the kids, the other staff & all the issues of the day. How do I do this? Really want to know? hahaha
Age of Empires II spans a thousand years,
from the fall of Rome through the Middle Ages
in which players lead one of 13 civilizations into greatness.
Yup, it's true! I come home from work and play a game ... then I can make supper and continue to parent my adult kids! lol
How 'bout you? Do you have a secret method of preparing for or dismebarking from work mode?
