Keep yourself clean and bright. You are the windows through which you must view the world.

Seriously though ... From Mountaintop to Mountaintop
Have you ever noticed that "visions" take much longer (more work, too) to realize than anticipated?  lol  A friend of mine once pointed out that most of the time, when any of us gets a glimmer of "vision",  of what lies ahead, it is when we are on top of a mountain.  In reality, we are seeing from mountaintop to mountaintop.  Problem is we are so busy and thrilled with what lies ahead that we don't notice the valley(s) through which we must plow to reach the other mountaintop!  I'm just talking about paperwork here!  lol  I have been busy obtaining my needed "Letters of Recommendation" (anyone want to write one for me?), transcripts - which my kids found quite revealing, and the ever ominous Statement of Purpose ... which I honestly have not yet begun on paper.

I was hoping to be enrolled and in class by now, but ... due to the beauty of bureaucracy, it looks like it will be fall before I actually begin classes.   I am enrolled in the M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, Curriculum Supervisor/ Adult Learning and Training.   Cool, huh?  I am OK with the slowdown, however, because it also gives me time to finish eating the crow I have stuffed for years.   Education always seemed, ummm, a vain exercise to me.  I never saw much point in striving to attain a 100% if a 92% was still an A, for example.   Nor did I see much point in struggling to achieve an "A" if I could enjoy life and still pass.  In other words, I didn't see much point in grades.  Pass/fail would suffice for me.  What I was more interested in was thinking ... exploring ... questioning.

I bet I drove my Mom nutts, as a kid, although she never said anything other than I was born to be an actress ... moi?  I do remember the summer I spent much of my waking hours (between swim practices) digging to China.  I understood that the earth was round and HUGE ... which is why I devoted hour after hour to my digging!  I think I was about 6 then.    Mom would bring out a drink once in a while or a snack, but I was determined.  My hole was well over 6' deep when September finally arrived and I had to return to school ... and my hole became a trash pit!

Anyway ... it will be interesting to see if my academic interest endures and grows as it is stimulated by knowledge.  Whew!  That's tiring, just to think about it!  lol

Happy weekend, y'all!

Blessed in 2008!
